v1.5: Blocks and AI

September 28, 2026

The biggest update since 1.0. Blocks arrive as a new way to build: complete, ready-made screens and sections you drop straight into your product. Code gains a full family of AI chat components, the data components designed in Figma in v1.1 now ship in code alongside a new Calendar and Date Picker, and a system-wide pass on color, spacing, and radius tightens both design and code.

✦ Introducing Blocks

Complete screens and sections built entirely from Create UI components.

In code: 73 Pro blocks across 7 categories

  • Authentication (12) and Authentication Plain (12): sign up, sign in, phone sign in, OTP, forgot password, new password, check your email, verification failed, SSO, two-factor, magic link, and account locked, in card and full-screen layouts

  • Menus (24): file and folder menus, sort, member and assignee pickers, status, tags, account, workspace switcher, column visibility, AI model picker, bulk actions, share and permissions, plus loading, error, and empty states

  • Overlay (15): confirmation, destructive with type to confirm, create, success, error, feedback, warning, share, session timeout, cookie consent, what's new, filters, rename, and cart

  • Header Navigation (5): from a marketing top bar with a mobile drawer to floating compact and pill headers

  • Sidebar Navigation (3): CRM, crypto, and HR app sidebars, two of them collapsible to an icon rail

  • Sections (2): page headers with actions or a search field

Browse them at /blocks with live previews you can switch between mobile, tablet, and desktop, resize, and view in light or dark. With a seat, read each block's source and install it in one command: npx @create-ui/cli add auth-01

In Figma: 58 blocks across Auth (13), Menus (22), Overlay (15), Header Navigation (5), and Sidebar Navigation (3).

✦ AI components (Code)

Everything you need to build a chat interface, and each piece works on its own. 13 new Pro components plus two Prompt Input add-ons: Prompt Input (with Queue and Tokens), Chat Message, Chat Message Actions, Chat Conversation, Markdown, Chat Tool, Chain of Thought, Chat Source, Chat Attachment, Chat Loader, Chat List View, Prompt Suggestion, and Text Shimmer. Streaming Markdown, auto-following conversations, tool calls that follow the AI SDK lifecycle, and inline citations are all built in.

✦ 23 new components in code

1 free (Featured Icon, with a richer Pro version) and 22 Pro:

  • AI: the 15 above

  • Data: Table, Tree View, Filter Bar, and Sparkline

  • Dates: Calendar and Date Picker

  • Visual: Mesh Gradient

Table, Tree View, Filter Bar, and Featured Icon were designed in Figma in v1.1 and now ship in code. Table is a real table built on React Aria, with selection, sorting, resizable and pinned columns, drag-and-drop rows, and infinite scroll.

✦ New in Figma

  • Date Picker joins the design system

  • Section Header now takes slots on both the left and right side

  • Placeholder logos fully redrawn, with a more consistent and more varied set of alternatives

✦ New in existing components

  • Dropdown Menu (Design + Code): rebuilt in Figma around an icon + slot structure, so any component can sit inside an item. In code it gained nested submenus, a pinned search field, and scrolling for long menus

  • Toast now has a real queue: mount Toaster once, call toast() from anywhere, with stacking, hover to expand, and pause on hover or focus

  • Context Menu gained submenus, and right-clicking while open moves it to the cursor

  • Select Field open-menu states updated in Figma

  • Phone Input detects the country on paste, caps input at the country's length, and reports isPossible and isValid

  • Pro Navbar has a new mobile drawer with collapsible groups, labels, and a sticky footer

  • Pro Alert Banner has a new auto layout that stacks on mobile

  • Stepper stacks vertically on mobile, Pro Input Stepper animates digit by digit, and Pro Pagination shows a three-page window on mobile

✦ System refinements (Design + Code)

  • Color: primary updated in variables and across the color system, plus color updates on Badge, Chips, File Format, and the Alert Banner badge

  • Neutral theme (Code): a new neutral primary theme for monochrome interfaces, via init --theme neutral

  • Components: Button defaults restyled across many components, Close Button refreshed and now soft and pill by default, and a refined Text Link underline

  • Spacing and radius refined across the system

  • Typography (Code): heading-h5 and heading-h6 step up on tablet and desktop

  • A broad round of color, style, and tone tweaks that make the whole system more consistent

✦ Breaking changes (Code)

  • Pro Modal sizes are now md, lg, and cover. The old sm is md and the old md is lg, so a default modal is now the smaller 430px one. modalIconVariants was removed

  • Pro Command sizes are now md and lg, with lg as the default

  • Input OTP sizes are now lg, sm, and xs. The old sm is xs and md was removed

  • Default sizes moved to sm for Stepper, Switch, Switch Group, Radio, Radio Group, Checkbox Group, Breadcrumb, and Pro Alert Banner, and to xs for Dropdown Menu and Text Link

  • Close Button defaults to soft and pill, Pro Alert Banner to auto, and Pro Rating to fade

  • usePhoneInput: onValueChange now receives a value object instead of a digit string

  • Pro Navbar: NavbarMenu is now a modal drawer hidden from md up. Pass anchor="bar" for the old behavior

  • Textarea always renders inside a wrapper element, and Label is w-fit instead of w-full

  • The free Input Stepper no longer animates; the animated version is in Pro

Full migration notes are in the docs.

✦ CLI, MCP, and agent skill

  • add installs blocks with the same seat that unlocks Pro components

  • init supports the neutral theme, installs the full token layer for monorepos, and no longer conflicts with next/font

  • MCP search returns more relevant examples, and returned code uses your project's import paths

  • The agent skill covers every new component and the neutral theme

✦ Docs and site

  • Asset library: a searchable catalog of flags, banks, brands, payments, app store badges, social marks, and the full icon set

  • New to Code: a step-by-step guide from opening a terminal to your first component

  • Foundation pages rebuilt with per-breakpoint token tables and click-to-copy tokens

✦ Fixes

Keyboard and label fixes across Chip, Radio Group, Input Tag, Info Tooltip, Scroll Area, and Input OTP. Invalid states now show on Switch, Checkbox, Radio, and Text Link. Visual fixes across Select, Combobox, Dropdown Menu, Segmented Control, Pro Modal, Inline Alert, Breadcrumb, Accordion, and Textarea in Safari.

✦ The full library

  • Code: 49 free components, 35 Pro components, and 73 Pro blocks

  • Design System: now 18,500+ components and variant combinations

v1.0 — Launch

July 6, 2026

This is the release where Design = Code becomes real. The Pro library ships in code for the first time, at full parity with the Figma system. 19 new components, a rebuilt selection and menu foundation, and a deep pass across tokens, dark mode, interaction, and responsive behavior, across both design and code.

✦ Pro is here
The Pro library ships in code for the first time, at full parity with Figma. These are the components you rebuild on every project, plus richer versions of a few you already use. 13 Pro-only components across overlays, navigation, form controls, actions, and assets, all included for pre-sale customers.

✦ 19 new components
6 free (Stepper, Slider, Tabs, Dropzone, Context Menu, Combobox), 13 Pro (Modal, Command, Popover, Info Tooltip, Alert Banner, Sidebar, Navbar, File Upload, Input Tag, Password Strength, Rating, FAB Button, File Format), plus richer Pro versions of Tabs, Slider, Pagination, Separator, Input Stepper, and Tab Menu.
